Laurence G Barton FRICS started work in General Practice with a leading Surrey firm before joining DTC (now DTZ) in London in 1978. After eight successful years, latterly at Associate level, dealing with nationwide offices and commercial development projects, he joined Richard Brudenell, becoming a partner in
1986, with responsibility for national office and industrial agency and related professional work.

After graduating from Reading University, Michael E Rix BSc FRICS spent six years working in Australia, latterly for Jones
Lang Wootton (JLL). On returning in 1976, he became a senior negotiator in the National Office Department of DTC, where he
met Laurence Barton.

He joined Richard Brudenell and became a partner in 1984, dealing with Central London agency and professional work, in addition to starting a management department at that firm in the 1980’s.

In 2003 Michael Rix became an Independent Expert specialising
in West End and Midtown offices and is on the RICS Dispute Resolution Panel.
